We are delighted that our d.ACADEMY nurse education programme has received the highest possible award in re-accreditation by the Accreditation Committee of the European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association/European Renal Care Association (EDTNA/ERCA).

The programme has its roots in the Diaverum Competence in Practice (CiP) package, which was originally developed at Diaverum in 2004 and achieved its first EDTNA/ERCA accreditation in 2007. Following a radical revision of the programme in 2017, accreditation was required again this year.

This process involves rigorous external review at which we were required to describe our training content, processes and how we track and monitor progress throughout the programme. The Accreditation Committee from EDTNA/ERCA reviewed all our documentation, processes and reports to verify that our training meets the expected standards.

We are honoured to have received the highest award, of highly commended, an accolade which reflects dedicated and passionate work from all our nursing teams across all functions in all countries.

"I am extremely proud and honored with the re-accreditation of our nurse education program by the Accreditation Committee of the European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association/European Renal Care Association (EDTNA/ERCA)" says Diaverum's Chief Medical Officer, Fernando Macário. "This process was extremely demanding, made possible by a passionate team walking the extra-mile as many times before. The quality of our education process reflects the excellence of nursing care in all the countries in which we operate. The culture, and technical and human qualities, of our nursing teams drive the high standards of care we provide. This is a high achievement in particularly difficult times. I feel privileged to work with our amazing nursing teams".

We are determined to keep ongoing training at the heart of our work at Diaverum, and this award illustrates our success in this despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 crisis. The nurses who led the re-accreditation project - Israel Silva, Filiz Akdeniz, Suzy Pearce and Mari Paz - worked together with all Country Nurse Directors and Håkan Petersson, Director Leadership & Development, to collect the data required by the EDTNA/ERCA. Re-accreditation with a highly commended award is testament to our commitment to continuing to deliver high-quality nurse training even in very difficult circumstances.
